John Sanders is co-owner and head instructor at Sanders Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is currently a 3rd degree black belt under Rodrigo Medeiros, who is a 6th degree Black Belt under Carlson Gracie, Sr. Professor John got his start in San Diego, California, John has been a competitor with the BJJ Revolution Team in San Diego since 1998 as part of the famed Pacific Beach Fight Center. He has over 10 years experience of teaching. With an extensive knowledge in Jiu-Jitsu and a passion to pass in on to his students, he is currently one of the premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu professors in all of the northeast.
Ashley Ferrara is a co-owner and instructor at Sanders Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. She started her jiu-jitsu journey back in 2012 under Jay Mansfield, a black belt under Roberto Maia. After being forced to take time off due to injury she is happy to be back on the mats continuing her journey and sharing her passion with others. She is currently a brown belt under John Sanders. Ashley is a strong competitor and making a name for herself, taking home many wins in New England states.
She is not a stranger to being a coach. With a background in physical fitness and CrossFit she especially enjoys challenging herself and helping push students to reach their full potential. She always takes the time to explain moves in a way that makes sense to each student and will work with them until they understand the technique. She enjoys helping students and making sure they feel welcomed.
